Quite amazed with XC60 18" Wheel Tyre wear
After 20 months and 33k miles, I've had to have the front tyres replaced (with still 2mm tread). I'm quite amazed by that, especially as they are Pirelli tyres from the factory.
Rears still have 7mm on them (looking at the paperwork)! I'm not a light-footed driver by a long shot, but the V70 went through front tyres every 18k. Even previous other manufacturer SUV's I've had last 18-20k.

I got equally impressive tyre wear with Nokian Weatherproofs. Fronts lasted 31k. Rears had similar 7mm wear at this stage.

What tyres did you have on the car, mine came with Conti's and after 22k one front tyre has worn more than the other, I think theres 2.5mm on one side and 3.5 on the other, but im contemplating getting the pirelli's put on, i cant see these lasting past 26k, which is still bloody impressive.

I have also been amazed how light my car is on tyres.
I changed the original ones for Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season at about a year old. I didn't like the Pirelli Rosso's at all. After 23,000 miles the fronts still have 5mm and rears 6mm. I did rotate them a while back. I have never had a car so good on tyres. Mike

Indeed after 38000 miles the scorpion verde on mine were still at 3mm, but had lost a few chunks so swapped them out.
6mm on the back still.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
If you're running winter / all weather tyres don't they lose their "snow gripping ability" at 4mm so in effect become summer tyres?

4mm is the winter tyre equivalent of 1.6mm for all tyres. You can continue to use them down to 1.6mm but below 4mm is no longer considered a winter tyre.
This is why winter tyres have two wear indicators in them, one at 4mm and the other at 1.6mm
