Default Subframe Bolts

Another newbie question from yours truly!

Thought I would start my long-awaited polyurethane bush insert project today. I have managed to get the OSF one done and then went to do the NSF. I miserly invested in a 400W Impact Wrench whose maximum torque figure is 350NM.
This doen't free it.

Should this rating be enough to free the Subframe bolt on a 2006? Or do I need more grunt?

Do I start heating the bolt to try and shift it.

Bit concerned as I don't want to sheer the head off the thing and then look/feel worse than I already do!

Hi, not sure if your my subframe bolts are same as mine ( 03), but if so, the one to watch is the nearside front (UK). If you look under the bonnet you will see that this one bolt is not captive and the end of the thread is upwards and exposed to the elements.

This one was seized on mine and snapped when trying to remove.

I suggest a liberal soaking with penetrating oil for a few days before any attempt to remove and of course make sure the socket is not worn and a snug fit on head of the bolt.

Mine had to be drilled out but as it is not captive, a nut could be fitted on a longer bolt.

Hope this helps.

NSF bolt on my mine also snapped -- leading to much misery.
Be very very careful or you're going to end up with big problems.

Yes, thank you.

Think the wise option from all the replies is to get it into a specialist who should know the magic answer. Might be that all the bushings replaced, despite the expense, maybe the better option. I did like the idea of the subframe inserts but it didn't come out of the factory like that and the bushings were designed to behave in a certain way!

It's going in this Tuesday!
