Default XC 90 Boot

Hi
This is my first post so I apologise if it is in the wrong place!
I'm thinking of buying an Xc90, probably 2009/11 model but can't find out the length of the boot with all the seats down. The reason I ask is I need to be able to get a petrol strimmer in which is 186cm long, I've currently got a Subaru Forester and I can just get it in on a diagnol but it makes it awkward to get the rest of my gear in (I run a small gardening business!). Thanks in advance.

All the seats down apart from driver?

A good > 3m length easy.

You can lay the front passenger seat flat, and the middle row, and the rear row.
Makes for a very long load space.

I need to keep the passenger seat upright otherwise my partner will have to be strapped to the roof!

186cm is also the length of a couple of my spirit levels. If you snug the front passenger seat up fairly towards the windscreen (and keep the seat back reasonably upright) it will fit and should leave a serviceable amount of leg room, unless your wife is particularly tall.

Otherwise, diagonally across the boot space will also do it, if your other load items permit.

Cheers, luckily she's only 5'4" so should be fine, thanks for your help appreciate it. I'll probably wait 'til spring next year before I go looking for one.

Don't forget the XC90 has three rows of seats, and it's possible to fold the mid and rear rows flat to the boot floor.

The interior space is massive, if your strimmer doesn't fit then you need a van.

Also you can fold the rear seats individually so can carry people as well as long loads. I carried a 3m length of soil pipe with my daughter still in her car seat and my son in the middle middle seat. I have put a door in the back with all rear seats down but front up.

We regularly carry a concert harp in ours which is about 185cm in its case and have the front seats at normal settings.
A strimmer should fit and could go diagonal if a little more needed.
