I have had reduced steering lock with bigger wheels as the inner wheel hits the anti-roll bar.

The MOT man can get quite shirty over this. Tyres touching the inner wheel arch at the back is also a no-no. The Amazon does have adjustable stops which might come to your rescue.

No issues with MOT as I know the limits and do wear the tyres. I get your point but these mods are beyond bump stop intervention. Derek have you fitted bigger than standard wheels on an amazon?

Beware fitting the anti roll bar upside down. The kink at the end should go upwards to clear the steering arm. I'm sure that yours is correct Q, just saying. It has been posted about previously. |

As in the original wheels and tyres are a more comfortable ride?

I wouldn't know as I've not used anything else. You can use a 165 on a 5 1/2" rim and that may stiffen the tyre wall a bit and give sharper handling. It may also stiffen the ride a bit. Dibble may care to comment as I think he went that route with his saloon.
