Question Towing with an 850.

Does anyone use any spring assistance on their 850 or Ph I V70?
I have a '95 850 T5 GLE and wondered if I need to fit stiffer springs or assisters to help when towing the snail.
I dont want to change the handling when solo.

Default Nivo no no

Short answer, I don't know.
Had the car 4 weeks and towbar was fitted on Monday.

From past experience with my 740, nivomats are fitted standard but then are replaced with standard shocks when the Nivo's fail.
Unless someone was well off for money I would guess at 167K that my 855 has standard shocks.
Where self levelling shocks available on the T5?

I fit the rubber block type assisters when towing, the sort that fit within the spring coils, on my 850 T5. I don't put much weight in the boot, and with the correct noseweight the car sits quite nicely. I did consider 'mad' springs, but these were 150 quid. Probably worth getting if you load the boot, and a lot cheaper than nivomats.

Default Spring assisters

I fitted the coil spring assisters to my '89 740 estate.
They helped with the sagging, and my nose weight was only 60 kg.

It's worth poking your head under the rear to check if nivomats are fitted, just look for a rubber gaiter at the bottom of the shocker. If you can see gaiters you've got nivomats, if not i think a pair of Monroe Load Levellers or a similar air suspension setup can be had for around £150, maybe less.
