Default Water in front foot well

Hi,

I have a 97 V70 which has leaked water into the drivers front foot well. The water seems to have come from about 6 inches behind the hinge in the door and although it was very hard rain last night, there was literally a puddle there this morning. (The car was parked on the camber in our street so was sloping from drivers side to pass. side). Has anybody had a similiar problem, is it a blockage with the drainage route ? or are they prone to this. It's the first time I've experienced this problem in about 7 months of having the car.

Thanks

Duncan

I had a similar problem last year on my S70 T-5. I was having a wet drivers and passengers footwell! After examination it turned out that the heater matrix, which is preety much under the stereo was leaking. The replacement (Not Volvo) turned out to be approx £80, but a mate who is a mechanic installed it for me for a pint!
The old matrix upon inspection was well and truly knackerd and was rusted to hell.

Hope this helps

Aaron.

As this seems to be a rain related issue, make sure the drain tubes are clear. They are on the black plastic bit in front of the windscreen. Open the bonnet and you should see a 1" drain tube each side.
