Default 2011 S40 1.6 drive starter motor help

So I've been diagnosed with a faulty starter motor and have done tonnes of research and bought a second hand replacement.
I have the Haynes manual also.
Trouble is I can't for the life of me find where the starter is.
Can someone help please?
Car is needed for my stepson asap.

Sorry to be a pain but can you be more specific. I've got the under shield off, the fuel filter off and still can't see it.

I don't have the equipment to do any testing so will be a straight replacement.
Only have my drive to do it and the small ramps for each wheel.
Can it be accessed from underneath or on top?
