850 Tyres
My 850 needs new rear tyres. The tyres are 195/60 x 15. The fronts are H rated and the rears are V rated. The car is a 2.0 20V Automatic. The owners manual and Haynes manual do not state the speed rating that should be fitted.
Does anyone know what speed rating they should be? Richard S |

RE: 850 Tyres
You should be on at least V rated tyres.

RE: 850 Tyres
H rated tyres are rated up to 130mph.
V rated tyres are rated up to 149mph. It is illegal to fit tyres that are rated below the maximum speed of the vehicle. I have a 2.5 10v V70, it came with V rated tyres, I fitted H rated tyres when they needed renewal as the maximum manufacturers quoted top speed is below 130mph. Basically, I'd get what was legal for my car, if H rated tyres would be legal, then I'd get prices for both, if there was little difference, then I'd fit V rated. Cheers Col. |

RE: 850 Tyres
Thanks for the prompt replies. I had a pair of V rated fitted yesterday afternoon. All I need to do now is wear out the fronts (H rated) and replace them with V rated tyres as well.
