Default Advice on S70 2.0 T (Dec/1998, Portugal]

Hi all.

First: congratulations to the forum as I've already found lots of interesting information here.

I need some advice:
I've owned a Pug 406 1.8 Executive, which kept me very happy.
Although I felt very happy with the 406 (I don't need a very brisky horse as I want to build a Se7en type car), I want to upgrade and I found

S70 2.0T
1998 [December]
37.000 Km
Full History [Volvo serviced]
Very very very good condition.
£9500

The car belonged to an old count that suffered from long illness.

I would like to know how reliable is this engine, and other opinions about this car [T5/R owners: I welcome your opinions, but... :) :) :) ]

Another questions is I'm thinking about one day converting it to LPG: Opinions?

Many thanks in advance,
Joao Caldeira
Lisbon, Portugal

PS: Excuse me for this "foreign" English ;)

Didn't know they actually did a S70 with a 2.0 turbo. Are you sure about this?

There is a LPT version of the car (ie not the T5 derivative).

I thought the 2.0 turbo engines were only in the 40 series, or successors to the 70 series?

Turbocharged cars are more of a concern for LPG conversions - although AFAIK the can be done.

Hi.

Yeap, its a 2.0 T - a LPT.

When searching the web I found mostly Japanese sites, so I believe that it wasn't a world wide engine ...

The facts I know:

163 hp /6100 (although a Volvo mechanic claims 180hp)
183 Nm / 4500
210 km/h top speed
9,5s 0-100 km/h
9 L/100km
Probably B5204T? engine

What I really would like to know is what are the weak spots so I can be aware.

Thanks,
Joao Caldeira
