Does this apply to 2010 D5 models or do they have the auxiliary belt and tensioner done at the cambelt change?

Yes all 5 cylinder diesels of that age and newer .. Aux belt only changed at 54000 miles , ... Aux belt and it's tensioner changed with the cambelt every 108000 miles

Hi Clan, more great info from you, Thanks

Can you give me chapter and verse on that please?

Copy of Volvo service schedule perhaps?

My MY2011(+1/2) car has just had its annual service at Snows in Basingstoke - mileage was either just over or just under 54,000 - I'll check and confirm in the morning.

I can't remember any mention of aux belt change at service time...

Cheers

Dave

You should have an itemised service check sheet with your invoice showing exactly what was done and signed by the Technician who did it .
If you recently had a tensioner/belt recall they might not change it again so soon ..

Got the service sheet - just not to hand right now - I'll have a look.

Tensioner/belt recall??

First I've heard of this Clan...

Just Googled and found this - https://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/rec...257C320039D5D6

I've only had the car a year and a half, it came through Volvo Selekt with about 45,000 miles done and I've paid for the extended warranty and it has full Volvo dealer service history

(How) Can I find out what work was done prior to my ownership?

Cheers

Dave

Hmmm
Just spoken with the charming Danielle Roe in the Service Dept at Snows Basingstoke and the car was serviced in September at 53,100 miles. (108,000 service based on time)

A couple of warranty jobs were done - CEM upgrade, Spare wheel winch and Volvo Logo on the front grille.

Danielle tells me that my car (2012 model '61 reg) is not required to have the 54,000 mile Aux Belt change and that the cambelt/aux belt combo will be done at 10 years or 108,000 miles travelled.

She says that putting the VIN into VIDA gives her that info.

Anybody able to confirm/otherwise for this VIN?? YV1CT3056C1627279

Cheers

Dave

Hi,

Can anyone clarify if they go by age or mileage when considering belt changes?

I have only owned it for a few months and is due a service soon. I have a 2010 d5 (47000 miles) but have no history of any belt changes in the service book, so im contemplating getting them done, for peace of mind.

The old XC90 is still the old technology , the only problems are with the newer models ( 2007 on ) which have the engine suspended by the driver's end of the cylinder head .. The older models like your XC90 have the engine sat on the lower subframe ...

You still have a lot of life left in your belts , they have 3 years or about 60000 miles before due for change so will not have been done yet .

( interval is 108000 miles or 10 years which ever comes first )
