Default DAB Bluetooth double DIN radio to replace V70 radio

As the title suggests, I'm in the market for a replacement radio for my 1999 V70 T5, as the Volvo radio is now unreliable, and doesn't work most days unless I give it a clout.

I'd guess that the hole is double din size, and I fancy a DAB head unit, with bluetooth mobile phone functionality. any suggestions? Anyone done this?

Cheers!

just did this on the wife's 2004 C70 this afternoon. A Pioneer AVIC-F60DAB. All the bells and whistles (really far more features than will connect to in this car).

Easy job, get the relevant cable adaptors and it's just about 'plug and play'.

Halfords were doing a Sony DAB/bluetooth single DIN radio for £99 last week. Not sure if that offer is still on?

Your wife must love you! That radio's probably worth twice what I could sell my V70 for!

The unit does DAB and FM/MW - stick on windscreen DAB aerial and existing elec aerial for the analogue. Seems to work.

Just been customising it today - you can change the start up screen to any image, I have the Volvo iron mark.

There are, of course, cheaper radios available, certainly if you don't want navigation. I just wanted to get rid of all the separate handsfree and sat nav kit to make it a lot neater. Just need to copy all my music onto a usb stick, then I'll have similar set up to my S80 (though don't have DAB on that).

Hello,
You will require a DAB aerial as Paul says. The stick on is certainly the easiest way to go.
Cheers

Easiest but not the best for reception. I've fitted the Dega 4001 on the last couple of cars I've had. I've moved my Blaupunkt Nashville DAB to each successive car lol.

Its a great little unit and has been fitted successively in my Golf V5, 850R, Discovery Td5 and now the V70R You can fit a flylead to the rear of the radio for iPod/iPhone/MP3 player connectivity, but no USB or bluetooth on this one sorry.

I wouldn't say I'm impressed by the Blaupunkt, but my other Discovery has another Blaupunkt DAB fitted, this time a Woodstock. Another great radio, just looks a bit dated. Performs great though.

The aerial is from here - http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/Kinetic...ar_aerial.html

my aerial choice was partly down to mounting options, my C70 is the 'real' convertible, ie with fabric roof.
