Default Engine service required - warning light

This warning has appeared recently and I can't get it to clear using the turning the key and reset button method. What does the car want doing? I plan to do an oil change soon but this seems to be asking for something else. Is it a dealer job?

Cheers

it means there is a problem with the engine managment , you will need the fault codes reading to establish the cause ...

Thanks. It's strange though. It's 50/50 whether the message comes up every time I start the engine.

The more I think about it...why would it ask for a service if there was an actual fault? A service should be done periodically whether there's a fault or not

Message is a bit confusing, the routine service comes up as 'time for regular service' the other message is indicating a fault.
