Map update for non sensus nav

Just had an email from volvo this morning stating that 4 DVDs / discs should arrive soon (this month) so that I can update my sat nav.

According to the instructions provided it can take up to 5 hours...... The joys.

My car is. MY14 XC60 Rdesign nav.

Hopefully that helps anyone else who had been wondering when an update was due.

Good to hear you will have the latest version soon.

Not much difference then in time taken to updates maps in Nav for MY14 vs MY14.5......3.5hrs to download the update to PC and a further 1.5hrs to update via dongle!

So much for technological advancements..............but better than having to go to the dealer for an update and waste half a day.

not sure that the download is Volvo's fault - only took me 15 mins to download it

I agree that the 80 minutes it took for my update seemed excessive given that my Garmin does the European update in about 10 mins (after it has downloaded ) - and that is with real pictures of the junctions

OK maybe my broadband connection at fault for that (although I do get 6 Mbps) so will give that bit back to Volvo.........

Think they're installing super fast stuff up my road now so maybe the next map download will be 15 mins............

We've got super slow rubber band broadband so I'm pleased to have the DVDs coming.
