Default V40 alarm issue

Hi all, we have a 2003 V40 and for some reason today the alarm goes off as soon as the drivers door is unlocked and opened and we don’t seem to be able to switch it off. Any clues ?

Are you unlocking the car by turning the key in the lock, or by using the fob ?
Normally.... if you lock the car with the fob, you have to unlock with the fob, or the alarm will sound, but if you lock it with the key, you can unlock with the key without the alarm sounding,
Also.. if the alarm does sound, it will usually stop when you put the key in the ignition, & turn it.
That's what happens on mine .

We’re unlocking it with the fob but turning the ignition doesn’t stop it. Eventually it will stop but then starts again as soon as the door is unlocked again. The car will start and drive okay with the alarm sounding....

Default V40 alarm

Did you get this fixed? Mine has started doing the same today. Can’t switch off the alarm so I’ve disconnected the battery for some peace!!

This is so strange....my 2003 V40 has started doing the same thing today too.

Its usually down to the bonnet sensor. Spray it with WD40 and press it gently in and out.

Otherwise, disarm the alarm by pressing the ultrasonic sensor disable button on the dashboard.
