Gear selector boot/cover

1999 V40 manual. My mechanic tells me the rubber boot/cover/gaiter that protects the gear selector rod at the gearbox is cracked and needs replacing. Can anybody provide the correct description or even a part number? I've been searching online but can't bring up anything.

Is the gearbox a Renault box - reverse is top left next to first, or a Volvo box - reverse is bottom right below fifth?

Sorry, hadn't seen your message. It is a Renault box. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I am assuming you are referring to the round rubber boot that fits around the short gear selector shaft that goes into the gearbox. If so, Volvo call it 'bellows' and the part number is 3345084. A quick google search for 'Volvo 3345084 brings up Skandix who list it as: gear linkage boot.
