Fuel Filler flap Stuck shut
SO my wife tried to fill up tonight and could not get the nozzle in the fuel opening, it was stuck shut.
After playing around I managed to release the lower catch by prizing the 2 sides open with a flat blade screw driver while pushing down on the lower mechanism, which released the flap, wedged it open and got some fuel in it. But playing further as soon as I release the plastic lower catch up it clicks and will not open again, even if I hold the flap open while releasing the catch. Nothing seems to be broken and I;ve cleaned it out, and maybe with a filler pipe it would work now...? but how does this flap release catch actually work? should the catch slide down easily? it seems to make a clear clip and lock up when releasing it, then wont release unless I pry the sides open with a screwdriver. Sorry didn't get any pictures. |

Fuel flap release
I seem to recall there is an emergency release from inside the boot through a removable panel in the boot lining on the right hand side at about the level of the filler.
