Wanted: Gearbox Parts
Where may I buy new or good used parts for an M400/410 gearbox out of a 164 - specifically synchro rings and layshaft bearings?
Any pointers gratefully received. |

Maybe Simon at Brookhouse Volvo Parts (01473 218806) can get the bits you need - he has obtained some bits for my 164s OK. A good bearing place may help on those parts - a local place got new wheel bearings for mine recently, once they had the manufacturers numbers.
I don't know my gearbox numbers - is that a manual or auto? I expect other makes/models of car used the same 'box so probably 2nd hand 'boxes are around. P |

Thanks Triple-S. The M400/410 is the manual/overdrive 'box.
I have spoken to Simon Richardson at Brookhouse and to Tony Barrett but neither could help. I have the gearbox stripped down for examination and refurbishment. It's in good condition but I'm loath to reassemble it without new synchro rings at least. Any help in locating them would be most gratefully received. Neil. |
