Default 1030/1 rear axle Non ABS

There I was going down those long steep hills, for the forth time that day, in 2nd gear on a very hot day when my 670k ml back axle said enough.

I really need a replacement.

I have asked Antz and I'll ask Classic Volvo now...... HELP!!!

Terry, 'The Volvo Man' from Hull sent me a 1993 48 sensor axle, I need a 12 sensor so the speedo works.

Hi Brian

Lakes had a couple of 240s with rear axles. 01480 212291 Barry or Bernard

They're Huntingdon, you're Bournemouth. That's less easy to resolve, but they may be able to help

Good luck, Nick

Ok I have rung Lakes and they have a run on 240 axles. Three in front of me. They are used for racers and other modified cars.

But I have good news from Dai, and Speedy Cables. There are solutions.

I shall report back.

Brian have you managed to sort the axle problem?
My cousin has just sold his 240 GLE 2.3 engine: ~ he purchased a good used back axle from Lockerbie breakers as at that time due to an accident he thought the same had been damaged on his car (turned out to be a rear wheel bearing & cup) the spare is still with him and can be sold if interested- if so just let me have a contact number and I will put you in touch etc.
Regards Bob

Hi Bob
I have a solution after talking to Ryan at Speedy Cables in Swansea.

Posted the speedo and the 12 rotor pick-up and the 48 rotor pick-up to him on Friday.

The speedo will be modified to pick up the ABS sender and read the correct speedo and mileage recording for the 1989 model.

So fingers crossed all sorted, but thanks for the response.
