Default Accident...

So today I was involved in a low speed crash just a few hundred yards from my front door. You can't see the impact but can hear it at 0:07, you notice the girl on the pavement stops in her tracks.

Liability has been admitted. However I cannot work out how the driver 'did not see me'. Young driver perhaps 18-19 years old. Passed her test in March.

ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

Her view of the junction:

Lack of experience, accidents happen. I see some interesting driving on a daily basis. The other driver has gained some wisdom and nobody was hurt.

Could have seen you a mile off! That's annoying, I'm guessing she wasn't reading the road ahead when coming to the junction, then was concentrating on looking to her left as she joined it and for some reason then kept looking left as she crossed the junction and didn't see you until it was too late?

No way could she have seen you whilst she was Whatsapping...!

My guess is she was on her phone. Annoying though as accidents are hassle. Luckily she wasn't going faster...

She was also cutting the corner as well.... whilst not an offence, it’s a sign of inexperience and lack of attention.

However, no one died or lost any limbs, and hopefully the other driver has had a shock which might ultimately lead to an improvement in their skills. A few scratches and dents on your car, the other looks a lot worse.... usually the case with Volvo vs French something.

Even that isn't as bad as what I witnessed in a car park recently.. Had some guy swearing at a woman (who was with her children btw) for literally parking in a way that inconvenienced him for a grand total of 10 seconds.. I was about to get involved and tell him to calm the hell down but they drove off before I did..

Not trying to cause a fuss here but why did you stop like that? if you'd have sped up a bit and swerved right you might well have missed the collision.

I had a similar scenario in my T5 and as I was only in 2nd gear at the time I floored it and it picked up so quickly it literally launched me out of the way, it was the quickest way to avoid crashing.
