About to send mine off, hopes it fixes the problems I'm having. Just got it off the car today, what a pain in the a$$ to get the starter support bracket off and the wiring out! Just gotta grow the skin back now on my knuckles and arms!

2011 S60 T6 - DIM removal
I have a 2011 S60 T6 and the audio output from the DIM (for all the various alarms/ alerts etc.) has gone.
All other functions & displays are ok. Volvo service is asking for the DIM to be renewed, which needless to say costs a lot. I hope that the problem could be the speaker or something that can be repaired. Could anyone please give me a procedure for safe removal of the DIM. I have not done that before. Thanks in advance. |

Big thanks to Lukas. Fitted my ETM a couple of weeks ago and it's been fine since. Gone from having a dead car to one that's running great. I managed to shear off a couple of the etm bolts when refitting which wasn't fun on a Friday evening but a the local DIY shop sorted me out with some very similar bolts which worked a treat. Volvo wanted 12 quid a bolt and said it would take 3 days to get them. 80p at the hardware store. Moral of the story, don't overtighten the bolts!

Order placed for my ETM to be fiddled with Lucasz. Should be with you in a day or two.
Boy am I looking forward to a smooth drive! Many thanks in advance. PS. I am cheating. Local garage is removing the ETM, storing the car until it returns and then refitting all for £40! No skinned knuckles or sheared bolts for me!

Hi Lukas. My 2002 Bi-Fuel S60 recently became difficult to start from cold. Once I did manage to get it started it ran a bit erratically for a little while and I had to keep revving it for about half a minute before it would settle down to a good tick-over. Cold starts were the only problem, all the rest of day it started fine and drives fine, both on petrol and LPG. I was told it sounded like a dirty throttle body which needed cleaning. I cleaned it with injector cleaner brushed well in with an artists paint brush. Following this cleaning the car ran great for about a month, but now the poor cold starting has re-occurred. As cleaning the throttle body did cure it for a while I conclude that the fault does lie with the throttle body, so I am asking if you agree that this is likely to be the cause? If so I will be looking to remove it and send to you for repair. Thanks, Peter. |

Your symptoms are not typical for throttle body. I would suggest to run diagnostic test before going any further.

ECM repair?
Hi, I see you do repairs to ETMs, DIMs etc, I was wondering if you also do ECM testing/repair?
I have a 2000 p2 V70 T5 that won't start, there is no communication with the ECM, Vida shows CEM-1A62. Thanks
