Question Modified exhausts

Has anybody fitted an after market exhaust system of any sort to their S/V40, 2.0, non-turbo car? I want to know of one that works but isn't too noisy. PFS has one from JETEX, but Stirling Exhausts do one as well. Any others worthy of note?

got to be honest here,i think the volvo standard exhaust on the 2.0 is excellent,if i needed a replacement i would just get a pattern part.

i say this because i think the performance gains from a performance exhaust would be minimal

Cheers John, know what you mean but, the standard rear box is so restrictive and all the aftermarket units I have fitted so far have been of very poor quality and not very quiet. And the cost is so high, a proper Volvo unit could well be a better idea.

The Jetex exhaust fits great & sounds only ever so slightly deeper in tone to the standard exhaust. I think the 3" tips look better compared to the standard system. You will never see any major gains in performance in an N/A engined car unless you spend serious money. I paid about the same for the Jetex system as a pattern exhaust cost, so I am happy with mine. Shame its not lighter than the standard setup, I recommend fitting new exhaust hangers if you decide to fit one!

Thanks guys, sounds like the Jetex is the one to go for. Where did you get yours from? And how much?

Has anyone fitted this to the 1.9TD? I emailed Jetex and they said in theory it should fit but they have never done it, so just wondered if anyone on here has?
