Exactly.

The issue with combining/superimposing both the views could be that when the sensor(s) kick in and the corresponding red marker(s) are shown on the display screen these red markers will make it difficult to see what the actual gap is between the car and other adjacently parked cars or obstructions on the 360 view, thus negating the benefits provided by the 360 view.

The markers don't have to be solid blocks of colour; they could be slimmer and/or a semi-transparent shadow overlay. I've seen this on other cars which also show the actual distance to the object, measured in cms, which is a far better implementation than Volvo's.

Or, you could all just learn to drive without using cameras. Never had a car with a reversing camera, cars never used to have them so why is everyone so dependant on them?

The same could be said literally about everything in life for example banking, phones, shopping etc. When we, as humans, are seeking convenience and improvisation in many aspects of our life then why not when it comes to cars.

Not sure we are dependant on cameras but they do make life a lot easier for those, like me, who never quite mastered the art of knowing to the inch where each corner of the car is.

IMHO the person who invented the 360 camera deserves several medals...

As someone waiting for my first camera laden car, I'm quite surprised that the "Always switch Camera On when reversing" isn't an option, and that 360˚ as a default isn't an option.
On the XC60 are the warning (reversing) sensors still loud and can they be switched off, or down in volume (V50 is SO loud)

You can have the camera activate automatically every time reverse is selected.
The camera defaults to whichever was used last before turning engine off, so if you used 360 last it will start 360 view when putting car in reverse or if rear view camera was the last one used it will start that instead, it remains like that until you select another view manually.

With the cameras activated, the warning proximity buzzers keep working but also also red indiators as to which sensors are activated are shown attached to the central car picture. The speed of the buzzer indicated the distance from the object.

The only minor issue I have with the system is that sometimes the graphic fills the screen when the cameras would be a better choice for cars that have them.

There are probably a few of things that would be better than having to swipe and click a button (which mostly works). I would like a button to
hold or charge on T8
turn Dynamic off and on (reverting to previous setting)
Turning on 360 camera
