Could someone previously have broken the lamp or it's internals? If it's fitted it must have been whole, at some point. And yes, MOT fail, if it's fitted but doesn't work!

Yeah, deffo originally fitted, and yes, it's probably been broken at some point dislodged the bulb and gubbins, hance the wire is there with no connection, that's what's missing, the loom connector and what ever it is that holds the bulb in, that's what I don't know what I need

Presumably the offside fog lamp is complete and working. Compare what is there on the offside with what is there on the nearside and it should be apparent what is missing on the nearside. Some of the missing parts may be available via your main dealer but I suspect that you may have to obtain a used nearside lamp from somewhere and replace the complete unit.

There's only supposed to be one rear fog light. For the reason mentioned above, i.e. to avoid confusion with brake lights.

Well, I wasn't sure if you were actually talking about the single rear fog light, or the dual front ones. I didn't get the NSF thing to begin with. But now I think I understand.

My car is old enough (2012) to have front fog lights, and there are indeed two of them. The other car we has is a 2016, so it has front DRL instead.
