Isn't it the most fun ever smoking Audi's in a nondescript Volvo?

How much did the ex plot car set you back if you don't mind me asking? I'd quite like another one (my 850 ex-plod car got nicked... ironically!). My brother builds light bars for the highways agency... so a subtle yellow light bar with clear lenses would make it a lot of fun in the outside lane and maybe mean i have to deal with less idiots on the road because they wont be so sure what the car is... haha!

Just purchased this week:
V70 T5 2001 Y796 FAA Silver, Auto, with black leather.
125,050 on the clock.
Recently neglected, but currently having some TLC from my trusty mechanic.
It came without any service history, so if anyone knows the car?
Potentially such a nice car for very little money, really impressed so far.
We are off on a road trip next week, so final verdict after that!

Two and a half grand. On fleebay, sometimes there's a link to a company who specializes in ex-plod cars.

S reg, late 98 but 99 model S70 T5 Manual in Green. Ex-plod, so came with basic velour interior, now changed for full leather from an S70 CD. Aircon but not CC, no info centre or Cruise, Plod Spec 302's and 4 bolt lower arms, also Bilstein shocks and springs which i believe are original. Came with Perfo alloy wheels but now fitted with 7.5X17 Comets and Toyo Proxes T1Rs. Volvo strut brace. Snabb quickshift with roller bearing linkage, Powerflex engine steady bushes.

Latest daily driver / commuter / bike carrier:

1998 V70 T5 CD
Completely useless, dim witted auto box
177,000 hard miles
Finished in 'oh so popular' silver with camels arse coloured interior
Totally standard, abused, hanging on in there

Plans: Abuse it, take it to Rome, abuse it, bring it home, abuse it, scrap it.

Smile Add mine V70 T5 SE Auto. 1998 Initial Reg. Silver

Used as day to day parents' taxi. Bought in 2000 as S****EG from C & L in Bury SE. Replated with wife's private plate. No mods, still drives like a rocket. 16" Perfos, soon to be replaced with 18" Pegasus. Next will be a wrapping to recolour in blue metallic. Thinking of remaps etc but phobic of knackering the autobox. Just had a new evaporator, compressor and cambelt at local Volvo dealer in Bedford. 160K miles on clock. I think we'll keep her for a few more years.
