No need when there's Google.
It's a mass produced engine where everything has already been said so easy for any prospective owner to research.

Well I bought the car. Our first weekend and it's nice to drive, seems quite refined.
Time to learn how to work everything... Thanks for your input all. G |

Considering how well the dacia's sell and reviewed imo these D2 V70's are much more powerful and more capable. They don't eat tyres for fun, great mpg, great road tax costs, still very capable, also as safe as the more powerful V70 unlike many of the budget estates, reach whatever speed limit you want and still capable of cruising at 120 in Germany should you want to do so, just take a bit longer to get there. I always dismissed the D2 V70 until we had one in for sale, I actually quite liked it, sure it felt underpowered compared to the nearly double the power D5, however compared to other economical estates its actually quite powerful. If you have an auto, make sure you get the gearbox oil/filters changed on time. Seen a few of these gearbox fail, usually by people who self service who know better than those pesky garages who are just out to rip you off |

Congratulations - I'm sure you'll love the car. I would agree that regular servicing is important - and yes - get the oil & filter changed in the 'box. I don't know cruising a 120 - but its not noticeably noisier at 90/95 than at 70/75.

The only experience I have of a V70 D2 (2011) is that it's a lousy car for towing.
But even my partner thinks that her daughter's V70 DrivE (same as D2) is weak. Still she's one of the least aggressive driver you can find. |

But seriously, why would you buy one if you expected it to be a great tow car? That might just be a triumph of optimism over design intention.

The lady who owns it didn't expect it to be a good towing car. But at one occasion, we needed to tow three trailers at the same time. She had to take one of them, liking it or not. I took the biggest one, but she couldn't even maintain the legal speed limit when towing with her car and trailer.

If you live in a hilly part of Scotland and have to tow a trailer, it’s never going to be a good choice. If you live in central Birmingham and use it for school runs and commuting - it’s will be more than adequate.
