Glad you got it fixed and that the is mystery solved. Nothing is ever simple!

I had exactly the same problem with the offside heated mirror on my '90 745 (different motor fitting) about 10 or so years ago. On holiday, we stopped in a grass car park at the Wetland & Wildfowl Trust on the River Severn. As I came to a halt 'plop' the heated mirror parted company as a whole with the backing and fell to the ground.

Very fortunate as it was grass it didn't shatter. When I got home I super glued it back. I was a pain driving home without it especially on motorways. It lasted for about 6 years until the very morning I was taking the car for it's MOT when I got side-swiped in a narrow lane nearby. That ended any thought of an MOT that day!

Damn, mine is a mk2 so won't work for me, if it will fit yours then you are welcome to it when I can dig it out.

No sorry I sold them.

I think it will probably fit the Mk2 but you might have to swap a couple of bits over Luke, i think Volvo changed some bits. I know when i last needed bits for mine, all the Mk1 940 mirror stuff seemed to be a straight fit but some Mk2 stuff had to be "played with".

Shame about the headlamps, nothing urgent on them but hoping to find a pair of 760 headlamps to keep as spares - daresay some will turn up eventually.
