Default 740 Windscreen Wipers

Hello

I thought there had been a post similar, but cant find it, so apologies if its been covered.

Would be interested to know if there is a good solution for lubricating the wiper motor spindle to increase the wiper speed.

Have just oiled and greased the electric window mechanisms and they are a lot better.

Thanks

Andrew

There's an attachment that I posted describing how to remove the scuttle panel in the above thread; greasing the cable might overcome the resistance the motor is experiencing and help you out.

If it is just the spindles that need lubricating Andrew, remove the wiper arms and drop a few drops of synthetic ATF round the spindle bushes. Operate the wipers (without the arms) at full speed to help circulate it in the spindle bushes, switch off and allow them to park normally.
Refit the arms, check operation and check the tightness of the nuts on the arms as they don't always find their "tight" place at first.

If you find you need to go deeper in, use the instructions linked to by Loki.
