Default inlet gasket question

I need to replace the ecu temp sensor on my 2.3 red block turbo. It is bit hard to get to. The general suggestion is to remove to inlet manifold to get better access.

My question to the group is this: Do I need to replace the gasket on the inlet as I go? If so does it have to be an expensive volvo one or will a card, liquid or other do?

Has anyone else done this job?.. Can you forsee replacement issues and can I do it without removing the fuel rail/injectors?

I did the one on my car without removing the inlet manifold or draining the coolant you have to be quick not to loose it all though. Did it like this as I had just fitted a new gasket and didn't want to do it again plus I was in a rush late in the evening. It's easier to get to if you remove the idle control valve and the bracket that holds it though.
I think there is a copper washer on the sensor that needs changing.

If you do remove the manifold use a proper gasket. I don't think a Volvo one is all that expensive. An aftermarket one will do the job though if they are cheaper.
