What year are the 2 cars? And what injection does each have?

This is something I wanted to do, but my 740 had the old K Jet injection so no go without a full injection and loom swap!

Yes, the engine is a direct fit. You'll have to use the fuel injection components from the 740, and maybe the distributor. You need to tell us what years of cars.

940s don't have an LSD, but and Eaton Locker. They bolt in, but there can be trouble with the speedometer tone ring count. Once again, what years, ABS or not?

If you are taking a 2.3 Turbo redblock from a 940 turbo and bolting it into a 740 Turbo then it will physically bolt in straight away.

The only thing you have to be carefull off is your 740 Turbo car an early one running the motronic ECU or a late 740 Turbo that is running LH2.4

The easiest way to check between the two is see if you have an Air Inlet temperature sensor in the intercooler hose to intake manifold. If you have an AIT you have motronic, if not you have LH2.4

If you have that then you need to ensure you bolt the motronic flywheel and its 2 flywheel sensors to your donor redblock from the 940. Also use the motronic inlet manifold with its injectors as well as they and the Throttle position switch are different.

You will also have to swap over all the coolant sensors in the cylinder heads.
