I remember seeing one when I was quite young. It must have been in the early 1970's. It had a Diesel engine when diesel cars were virtually unheard of in the UK. This one could certainly be heard. It sounded like a bag of nails stuck in a tractor exhaust at its idle speed.

It was an amazing car then and even today it’s pretty sexy.

My dealer says all their slots for 2018 are gone.

I was given an R design fully loaded demo yesterday (My XC90 was being serviced and I insisted on not being put into a v40)

The XC40 is a really tidy handler, I was impressed with it.

2018 supply all sold out! If you want one in 2018 it’s going to have to be one that a dealer has already ordered or someone cancels an order. It’s amazing that they have sold out in less than 4 months 1 years worth of capacity! I read that volvo has delivered 2000 Xc40s a month in the UK, that’s over half last years monthly sales for all Volvo sales in the UK in 2017. There will probably be an uptick in forum members looking for an XC40 thread.

Please, Moderators, can you either create a new area for the XC40 or explain your reasons for not doing so. I'm sure running a forum isn't a piece of cake and there will be conflicting opinions on just about everything but it seems to me that there's a body of opinion in favour of a new area for the XC40 and its future siblings.

Be interesting to see how Volvo handle this as they clearly need to increase production capacity. Is this their first truly mass market car that appeals to a lot of people? Historically Volvo have had limited mass market appeal
