The r-design doesn't have any engine tweaks which give a measurable performance difference AFAIK, otherwise it would be used as a selling point.
If anything, it should be a fraction more economical than momentum/inscription as it is marginally lower.

I'm happy with mpg above 50 for my 60 minute mixed urban & motorway commute. Checking the "nerd stats" chart at the end of the ride, I see sections frequently above 75mpg (1 mile average) and rarely below 40mpg
Better than smaller cars I've driven with 2L diesel.

Saw a very nice S90 inscription in denim blue this morning (18 plate),first S90 I have seen this year and then 4 different new XC60s on the way home! (and I saw two new XC60s last night too!) Think Volvo might be shifting a lot of the new XC60s.

You definitely need to change the way you drive!! Even in busy town centre driving with a bit of motorway (65-70mph) and some A roads I am in the low 50s!!

It's in ECO mode most of the time and I wasn't driving particularly quick.
Haven't tried Dynamic mode yet too.
There's some traffic along the way but hoping to get 45+ easily at least.

My last car was W205 2.0 Diesel Hybrid same commute same driving style always 50+mpg.

They are 18s Dez - standard R-Design fitment.

I’ve not asked the question - I’m not sure the inscription 20s would suit my car thinking about it.
