Default Mileage Display - remove

I'm fed up of my cars mileage glaring at me each time I get in. I know it's done 80k but Id rather not be reminded of the fact each time I get in.

Is there a menu setting or other function where I can turn it off or show the trip mileage instead or something

Cheers

No.
Trip milage is resettable but total milage is always counting up.

That`s kind of a funny issue to have since odometers have been visible on all cars for at least 100 years. I wish I could get those trip mileage readouts to disappear since they are totally useless if you aren`t using them.

What's wrong with 80,000 miles ? Your Volvo is still on its prime !

I was thinking the same thing.

You shouldn't think of it as as negative thing but as an achievement then it won't bother you so much.

But 80,000 miles is hardly run in, unless you strive to leave the car parked up its not really an achievement.
I baught my P1 with 104,000 miles on the clock and then put another 100,000 on it before selling it to a neighbour who now has 230,000 on the clock. Still on original clutch, still does regular runs of 200 + miles to visit his family and still only gets one service a year.

Don't think of it is the mileage - think of it has how much money you have saved by not buying a new car every 2 years?

I know 80,000 mikes is not a lot although I know one or two people who think it is. I was trying to put across the point of as the mileage goes up they should think of it as a positive thing. See how little repairs you have to do over the mileage of the car etc etc.

True. Thanks for the positive messages all. It drives well - so well in fact that I think of it as a relatively new car. Just the number reminds me otherwise. It's true that we don't buy new cars for exactly the reason if not loosing tons of money in depreciation.
