Default 2018 Xc60 - roof bars

Need to get a roof rack which will occasionally carry up to 4 bikes.

Most likely will be 2 though.

Does anyone have any experience good or bad with Thule?

Many thanks
Ian

Everything I have bought from Thule has been top notch. I have had various roof bars for various cars. Roof mounted bike carriers and also a Thule tow hitch mounted carrier. There are cheaper options but in my opinion none better.

Volvo OEM carriers and bars are also obviously made by Thule but it is better to buy the Thule as if you change car you can split the parts back down and might only have to change one part to fit another car. Thule used parts also command decent prices on ebay.

Nothing but good for the Thule roof bars and four bike carriers. Well made and never let us down.

A tip if you are carrying four bikes on roof, at least for the middle two I need a step because of height of car, I have found that one of the folding small decorators platforms is ideal, they are light. foldable and stable and only about £15 from a DIY store.

Hope this helps.

Slightly daft, but hopefully related, question. Can you use a roof carrier if you have a panoramic roof ?

I am sure you can; I have seen it in couple of Volvo’s promotional videos on their website.

I've got Thule bars for my current XC60. You can easily get four bikes up top.
They are excellent quality and work really well.

It's a long way up though! I'm 6'5", yet still need a little foldaway step to make the middle two bikes easier to get on.

And they are easily transferrable between cars. All I've had to change for my upcoming MY19 XC60 is the foot kit (cost me £20 on ebay).

Happy days!

You sure can. Here’s my T8 about a minute before I drove off from the dealer after it arrived.

Thanks! Bursting Blue. Am loving it. Have done 1400km and still on the second tank of fuel. Drives like a dream, the B&W stereo is incredible.
