Hi Roy, If your not to sure about doing the soldering yourself....

Try this...If you've got a old Radio or something thats got a circuit board in it,
thats no good or dont work....Take it out and have a practice first of all.

This is what i did, cause i had'nt done any soldering for a couple of years
prior to doing my ABS unit...Once you get the hang of it, its easy.

Hope this helps mate. Dicky.

tbh roy its no good as it is so you may as well have a go.....
the art is to use only a little lead solder to ensure you do not overlap one joint to another...heat the joint and wipe off the melted solder then re-apply with new LEAD solder...(enviroment my rse...lead free is crap....fact)..
dicky is bang on tho, practice on something with a circuit board....
cheers

I believe that there is someone on eBay that does this as a service with a 3 day turn-round.

Smile Cheapest Repair Ever

Cheers Dicky, I did remove the silicon layer around where I wanted to solder.

I could see about 5 of the joints marked had cracks.

Its the first time I have done a repair on a Volvo that has not cost any money.

I'm well chuffed.

Again, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this forum.
Without this sort of help I may have had to go to main dealer.

Hi,

How do you remove the silicon layer? Do you just heat it off or something like that?

Terry
