Default Dash language change using VIDA

I just can`t figure it out how to do it. I bought the volvo DICE and got VIDA 2011 program with it. It works great , I erased all the error messages from the driver information display, but I can`t change its language.
It is for a V70 2.4 TDI 2001
Has anyone done it yet?

you have to go to a volvo dealer for a software download to change the DIM Language .

As Clan says this needs what is called a DIM Reload to be able to change the language. For most people the only place is a Dealer or a specialist indy with the proper 'Genuine Kit'.

I get what your saying and that you can get a subscription and pay for the software download etc... But you will need the proper VIDA Kit not an ebay special for this.

Hi,

I have just imported a few volvos from Japan to New Zealand. The local dealer is wanting to charge $500/car to change the language from Japanese to English. That's crazy.
Anyway I found this from his YouTube clip.
volvodash.com

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get a hold of the equipment, or does the latest ebay version of the DICE/VIDA do the job now?

Thanks :-)

Default Dash language - japanese to English

Hi Soarer, did you ever find out how to change the Japanese to English in the XC60? Keen to hear how you got on as I am in Auckland too.

The subscription to the download service is something like $3000 USA. So, no, as Clan says it's dealer or nowt.

volvodash.com This is the cheapest and safest way to change language on all Volvo car platforms, I used it myself. Volvo charges 135€ for DIM and ICM change.
