Dashboard clock 1800E
Hi the clock in my dash in my 71 1800E runs fast gaining about 20 minutes a day, there are 2 adjusters on the front if the clock, one for setting the time and I presume the other for making it run faster or slower?? Having played with this I can't get it to.make a difference but have only turned it a couple of turns. Can anyone confirm this is for slowing down / speeding up the clock and if so what way slows it down. Thanks

Robert Fenn, near Andover, is exceptionally good at instrument repairs.

Mine used to lose about 30 mins a day and just a very slight move, around 5 degrees, towards '+' corrected it. Hope this helps. Paul |

Yes, good point - I forgot to mention how sensitive the adjustment is!

I had mine refurbished and converted to quartz movement by Brookhouse a couple of years ago. Price was about £200.
Skandix offer the the same service but the price quoted must be a misprint. http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...miths/1023660/ |

If anyone has contact info for Mr. Ostick and Fenn, mentioned earlier in this thread as clock experts, please post...I'd like to get some technical info from them on the Volvo clocks. Thanks

Ron, check this one out for info. Although Fred Winterburn on Yahoo 1800 thinks this is expensive I think for the UK it's reasonable. Their system converts the clock to an infra red sensor.
