Question Sway Bar bushings

I have dropped the subframe removed the antiroll bar and the vulcanised bushings. Cleaned the bar and given a quick coat of paint, ordered a set of aftermarket poly bushes for a 20mm bar and intended to use them however the subframe has a couple of pipes that run over it and one runs under the sway bar. the new bushes do not give the height to pass the sway bar over the pipe.......... I need a bush with a thicker base from the subframe to the ID where the bar passes through... see pics....... any comments advice?

I thought a metal plate under the bush might do it, much like the vulcanised bushes from the factory??

Default Update

I have ordered some 10mm plates to fit under the bushings, once they are here I will use a pillar drill to open up each end. I will then both the bracket through the new plates into the subframe.

If this works I am going to package it up as an aftermarket bush replacement kit for a C70 mk1

Pictures and results to follow........

That's a great idea, and if you run the fuel vent line over the bar your kit will be easier and cheaper.

If that'll fit all P80 - and I can't see why it shouldn't - put me down for a set.
