Thanks for the tips guys. I haven't looked at the glow plugs but I will.
I have the car scanner app. How would I see the boost in the apps?

From searching on the forums I'm quite confident I have the "tugboat" engine which I believe is the hydraulic lifters. Going to clean the rest of the parts mention and check glow plugs. If the lifters are too big of a job I'll get it booked in a garage to get them checked too

Have a look for the torque app (android) the free version shows you most things engine wise that are generic, lotsmof things it wont, show but boost pressure should work, not all obd bluetooth adapters are alike (some dont work at all) torque has some info on this btw

Update...

Ive replaced the hydraulic lifters and renewed the timing belt.
All back together but it wont start. Ive tried easy start, it runs for a few seconds then cuts out. Doesnt sound great but im told thats normal when using easy start.

I had the HP fuel pump of when replacing the lifters.
I get the following codes up too

ECM- 25C0 – Fuel pressure-(Posible Cause)-low input Fuel filter blocked, fuel leak, FRP sensor, fuel quantity adjuster, fuel pressure control solenoid, fuel pressure low, fuel lift pump

ECM- 2D00 – Fuel pressure control solenoid-(Posible Cause)-circuit malfunction Poor connection, wiring open circuit, fuel pressure control solenoid

Any ideas? Would you start by replacing the fuel pressure control valve solenoid?

Ive tripple checked the timing marks align too

You may have tried this, but if you had the injection pipes off, when you put it back together again, it can take 30 seconds to a minute cranking before it starts.

yeah ive cranked for ages, until my battery died.

I also took the intake and fuel lines off the HP fuel pump. Good flow on the intake and slow flow on the outgoing side. Shouldnt this be high pressure? I tried on at the injector too, cracking the pipe union off and it only runs out. Definitely not HP

Turned out to be a faulty HP pump. All running now and sounding like a dream with the new lifters in.

Thanks for all the help
