have you not been using the car much?
Volvo suggest charging the battery every 2 weeks when the car is not being used . It may be sulphated now.
Try charging the battery with an old type charger which does not switch off . Leave it on for 48 hours and that should help a lot .

any half decent 'new' charger should be able to bring the battery back (if that is the issue)

I have one of these (https://www.halfords.com/motoring/ba...er-435774.html) and whilst not the quickest has brought dead batteries (<12v) back to life.

I wouldnt reccomend the 'old type' charger trick as i believe AFM and EFB need to be charged a specific way ratehr than just dumping charge into it.

That's not what we are saying.... the problem with new electronic charges is they cut off at a certain voltage and on older, sulphated batteries that means they can stop charging well before they are saturated (i.e. charged to maximum capacity).

If you get a more expensive charger such as a C-TEK with a desulphating, recond program then that's fine but you must use that cycle a few times over a few weeks as well as normal charging cycles.

But the easiest, simplest way is to get an old fashioned battery charger (simple transformer and rectifier) and leave it on for 24-48 hours to fully charge and saturate the battery. I'm specifically talking about the vehicle main battery, not the auxilliary ones.

Had exactly the same with my 2016 (MY17) D4 AWD

I replaced it with a Lucas LF096 AGM battery from Tayna

Tayna are great but a word of caution when using their site. Searching by my numberplate gave the wrong battery size. The 096 size is the correct one for your car

same for mine, whatever one the site says mine is opposite (so AGM rather the EFG or whatever they are!)

My TVR sat on an Accumate, when not in use, for over 10 years. It brought the battery back from dead 9 years ago when I left the headlights on. The battery is 15 years old. As regards my 2015 XC 60, I occadionally get a low battery warning if I have the media on fpr a while when parked.. Regrettably, the stop/start never fails to work unless I remember to turn it off. Infuriating and I believe potentially dangerous .

Thanks Easington. I saw several posts about longevity of batteries and use of conditioning chargers. So I was just amplifying my experience with them. Many say you cannot bring batteries back from dead but I managed it and it was seriously dead having left the lights on over Christmas 🤣🙄 --aNd yes, I am usually in it at varying depths
