Default Cylinder head skim - anything else while it's in?

Hi all

I'm going to be getting my 940 turbo estate cylinder head skimmed in the next couple of weeks and was wondering if there's anything else that would be worth doing to it while it's in.

Answers on a postcard

Cheers

Hi,

I’d get the machine shop to put in a new set of valve stem seals (genuine ones), lap the valves and set the valve clearances.

Now would be the ideal time to change the cam, if that’s something you want to do.

Cheers

A good clean,

Check the exhaust manifold for cracks and weld them up, maybe paint it.

New stem seals while it is out.

If there is carbon build up get it cleaned and clean out the oil ways

You could also have the valves ground and seats recut IF they look to have worn
