Yup. Significantly better than Alfas of recent times but still not up there with the better equivalent cars in their class. I also know many people who have had Alfa's and they never went back for a second. Loved the styling but could not live with them long term. Equally I am well aware that they have very loyal followers, you pay your money your take your chance.

I am not condemning Alfa's, they are clearly not the disaster zones of the 70's, 80's and 90's. They have just not made enough of a leap for me to take a punt with them. I'm sure they'll not lose sleep over it.

No, the Arna was:

Nissan design
Alfa reliablity

The result: as pretty as a cardboard box. As reliable as a modern VW.

This doesn't seem to jibe when it comes to building street cars..=*^)

Gothenburg City in Sweden bought a number of Italian street cars in the beginning of 2000 (http://www.goteborgdaily.se/trams-rust-alarms-ignored)

Recently 38 of the first batch of 40 of the street cars were found to have serious rust problems and had to be taken out of traffic...

In addition it took the Italian firm years to deliver the original 40.

How does that even remotely relate to Alfa Romeo? - 3/4's of which are on the same platforms as many of the Fiats [and their engines in a number of circusmtances] as well as being related to some degree still with GM/Fiat Partnership.

That was a sarcastic answer...

Alfa was at the time as reliable as the British Rail on time!

On the other hand, Fiat builds come fantastic rail vehicles... The "Pendolino" with tilting carriages enabling higher corner speeds without passengers feeling seasick... They were the first to make that work properly... Not like British Rail at the time
