Default No power steering when stationary

Hi
My 07 XC90 doesn’t seem to have power steering when stationary (engine running) however it seems fine when moving. The fluid level seems ok and I can’t see any leaks.
Thinking in terms of issues with either the pump or rack ? or is there something else, if not how do I determine between the two ?
Thanks

Sounds like your pump is failing. The V70 of that age have a known issue where the alloy pipes react with the power steering fluid and start to breakdown. This blocks the filter in the reservoir and restricts the flow and the pump then fails. The signs of this is no power steering at tick over but if you raise the revs is comes back. The fix is new pipes and new pump. Your car may not Be affected by the pipes breaking down but it does sound like a pump failing.

Hi
I’ve just dripped a little on some cling film and it appears yellow and clear, a bit like cooking oil ?

Best way to be 100% is to have pressure tested

I doubt it’ll be pump you can easily swap 1belt removal 2 pipes removed 3 bolts hold it on

Yellow ? The CHF feud used in these is green, or should be.

Maybe do a power steering flush with new correct fluid. It worked wonders on mine.
