Feeler - 96 Volvo 850 2.5 20v Regent Red Metallic with pics

Hi all,

Not really sure what this is worth, so am putting out a feeler.

It's a 96 850 20v in pretty good nick. 115k miles, manual, cambelt done at 105k, think it's the CD spec as it's got ice cold AC, electric windows front and rear, TRACS, and a sunroof. And everything works (including headlight wipers), which is nice!

Only reason for sale is have found a T5 in the same colour so am looking to buy that. This car has definitely started the passion.

Bad bits are a little bit of flaking lacquer on the roof near the spoiler, spoiler rear edge has some scratches on, boot doesn't open on the CL (but will lock/unlock entire car if you use the key here), NS lower rear bumper been touched in as has the top of one of the arches (will check front/rear), MOT advisory of "deterioration to suspension mountings" which I believe to be OSR delta link bracket/bush, odd mark to front bumper (can be seen in pics). I think that's the main points.

On the interior, it's tan leather and tan interior - it's recently been cleaned and hoovered (mats pressure washed - all volvo OEM). Drivers heated seat need a 5 min fix - red wire hanging out from under drivers seat which I assume just needs reconnecting or replacing. Has those net things(!) in the rear seats, and the roof mounted dog guard on hydraulics, plus the load cover. Load cover doesn't fit very well as the holes on the side trim that it locates in have cracked, and the cover itself is a bit tatty. Will try to get some interior pics up asap.

It's had stage 0 tune a few weeks ago with all parts from Parts For Volvo: Plugs, Bougicord leads, Distributor cap and rotor arm, Air filter. Cost around £180 I think. Returns mid 20s around town and will pull to the redline in all gears. No warning lights on dashboard, only service light which goes off after 3(?) mins.

Have bought all the PCV kit parts (pics can be seen further down the FS section) but not fitted yet - will include these with the sale.

No CL fob, comes with a single key and also key for locking fuel cap, but i've done the "flashing light on dash" test so it will accept a fob reprogram.

I's probably the straightest 850 I've seen and i'm pretty picky about bodywork. Will be gutted to see her go, but I just want more torque...

Forgot to add - the MOT advisories for tyres are null and void as it's got 4 new tyres on now. They're Avon ZX7(?) I think?

Also the columbas are a bit tatty, could do with a refurb.

Price?
I know this is a feeler ad you've mentioned you dont know it's worth but you must have something in mind.
How much did you pay it as a start.. it's got to be worth that al least to you.

Yeah fair point. I paid £650 for it and with the stage 0 and PCV parts it owes me about £1000 altogether.

But I'd be looking at OIRO £600 or so as a starting point. I'd be willing to go lower if it doesn't gain interest.

I feel your pain. I was looking at a red T5 in Carlisle and then also found one in Cornwall! Never easy is it!
