These are the original leads at half that price.

Phone then to order them and state you want Bougicord not Bosch as they're the original supplier and Bosch leads aren't as good.

Thats where I got my Bougiciord leads from. As Luke rightly points out you need to phone and specify them to be 100% certain.

I can absolutely vouch for the benefit of genuine Volvo dizzy cap and rotor arm with Bougicord leads. I wouldn't fit anything else to a redblock engine. I ran pattern caps, Bosch leads etc for years but the genuine and correct kit transformed the B230FK in my 940. It was always okay but tended to idle slightly unevenly and occasionally hesitate slightly under load, all of which disappeared when I fitted the above.

I've always used NGK BPR6ES plugs in my redblocks, mainly because I also run them in the engines in the modified prokarts I race so have plenty on hand, but will make a point to try the Volvo plugs next time I change them, I'm intrigued to see if there is a smidgen more smoothness or power to be had!

Luke (360beast) recently did a service on one of his cars and fitted NGK BPR6ES as he always has and decide to try the Volvo ones instead. Despite the NGKs being nearly new, he says the Volvo plugs are smoother.

Like you i've run NGK BPR6ES plugs in a variety of vehicles for a very long time now and never had a problem. My other car only seems to run properly on NGKs (i've tried others but it just didn't "feel" right, still smooth but something "missing" overall) so as my 760 can also use BPR6ES i can usually negotiate a discount for buying 12 at a time from my local parts shop.

I'll be interested to see what the Volvo plugs do in your engine Phil, might give them a try in mine if they're good and if they work well in that, might even see if my other beast runs better on them. The OE fitment would have been NGK or Denso in that so perhaps not.

No I didn't, I've never fitted Volvo plugs only NGK 😂 I think you might be thinking of "VolvoLuke" haha. Last time I changed plugs in one of my cars was just before retro rides when I took my 940 up Shelsely Walsh so that would have been August 2019

No, it was definitely you! I've just checked and i read it wrong thanks to the joys of WhatsApp and dodgy intrnet connection! You're actually referring to the oil filter being Bosch and fitting NGK plugs so my apologies for the confusion! Last few messages on 1st Feb, you'll see where i've mixed things up!

Ohhhh I see, that was for the 360. Those genuine Volvo spark plugs have been in for the 9 years I've owned it plus however long before, obviously they had only done about 20 miles in those 9 years... until now as I've nearly done 200 miles in about 3 days!

I took them out as it was running on two cylinders, the gap was massive so I just wire brushed them and gapped them as the electrodes were in good order. It then ran on three cylinders, found moisture in the dizzy cap and it was fine then.

I haven't bought the NGK plugs for it yet but I'll swap it to NGK when I service it in 6 months.

That reminds me of when i checked the plugs in my 760 soon after getting it. Bear in mind it was running ok, just started to get lazy to start when the winter came and a bit "missy" until it warmed up.

The previous owner assured me it had new plugs fairly recently. Recently as in a year or two back he said. The gaps were huge, used my digital vernier to measure them and they were coming out between 1.8-2.2mm.

Cleaned and reset them, immediate improvement but the gap suggested they'd been in for an absolute minimum of 70k miles (assuming they hadn't been gapped when fitting and were the factory default of 0.9mm) so looking back through the MoT history to find when the mileage was 70k lower took it back to 2006 - 10 years before!

A new set of 6 soon found their way in!
