I have no idea why they have to have big bits of plastic sticking out to house the cameras - there’s no need at all. Should be much smaller and just proud of the bodywork really - less to damage and more aerodynamic. I love the idea of the cameras though.

I totally agree - little "mouse ears" instead of "elephants ears" would do just as good a job and still house the side repeaters.

I reckon it would be easy and cheap enough to replicate with a pair of reversing camera kits. Not sure what Mr MoT Tester would say about it but if it provides rearwards view, i don't see the problem.

Judging by the field of view in the image on the interior screen I suspect that the camera needs to be some distance out from the body line to give an acceptable field if view. For example, when towing a caravan the further out the towing mirrors are mounted the better the field of view down the side of the caravan.

I think it's meant more as an illustration Ian especially as we can't see the outer edges of the display.
I know the reversing camera on my dashcam has quite a wide field of view (when i can get the alignment right and the hound doesn't knock it) so arguably a pair of those sort of cameras linked to displays would work well.

Drivers mirror fell off recently. 9447754 convex, £45.60.

I assume the flat glass is still available, 9447756.

And convex for the nearside if you want to be fancy, 9447749.
