Whining noise?
Hi. On start up my Volvo v40 2.0 CD 1996 gets a whining noise. It occurs from cold and after the engine has been off for an hour or so. It is coming from the passenger side of the engine bay. I think it may be something to do with the choke. The noise tends to go away after 5mins as the engine cools and drops down to normal idoling revs. Anyone know what is wrong or help? Isit likely to cause any further problems or damage. It's been making the noise since I've had the car which is about 6months. Thankyou

Could it be this?
http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=98657 If so, it's an easy fix, thanks to members on here who told me how... If this is it, it is also non-urgent - it's not doing your car any harm. The only damage is to your sanity till you disconnect it.
