Does anybody know of a B230 engine that has a 10:1 compression ratio? Thinking of turning my B230ET in to a high compression N/A engine until I can afford the insurance for a turbo 360.

I think someone has changed wikipedia because there is no way the turbo engines are 10.3:1 compression when the B200E in my 360 is 10:1

I'm sure the ET is 9.3:1 anyway.

Some joker has changed those figures.

I would have had that engine off you straight away normally but I don't have any space so ideally just after some pistons, don't even need the con rods as I have some 13mm ones ready for th ET.

How much would you give for the pistons?

The engine is coming out this weekend, tempted to make the block it into a coffee table or wine rack.

Default Handbook

My 1987 owner's handbook states the CR of the B230ET to be 10.3 to 1. Why not run a compression test on yours?

Just skim the head to increase the compression its done quite often from what i've read. Gives better quench and de shrouds the valves a little too.

That is so weird, why is the turbo engine higher compression than a N/A engine? I always thought it was 9.3:1

Can't do a compression test as it is on my garage floor an has been for about two years waiting to go in the 360.

If it is 10.3:1 then I will just fit the engine mounts, inlet and exhaust manifold from the B200E and it will drop straight in and run

I just looked at my 1988 owners manual and it has a compression ratio of 9:1. I had a 1987 B230ET I broke for space and money! What a flippin mistake, chose the wrong engine to sell.
