Default CR-906 aux input

Has anyone fitted an aux input to their stereo before?

I have come across this and wondered if it would be any good?

Or does anyone know of another way to do it?

I've used this for a while - it also means you can have the sat-nav from your phone over the car speakers, incoming calls mute the sat-nav volume or music from your phones mp3 and if you use a small suction-mount phone holder placed at the top of the screen between the visor and A-pillar, it's just about the right place to pick your voice up (built-in mic) for handsfree.

A lot quicker and easier than pulling the stereo out, although that method looks quite good as well. This just gives you more options and you can change tracks, volume, answer calls etc using the bluetooth device.

Just an idea and a different way of going about the same result.

Thanks for the reply, I would rather it be hidden though and the one I found looks like it could be a tidy install.

Also I can't figure out how that plugs in to the stereo to play Spotify off my IPad.

Also most importantly I have to use my cigarette lighter to power my dash cam.

You can't figure out how it plugs into the stereo because it doesn't. It's an FM transmitter so it transmits the sound (music, phone calls, sat-nav etc) to your radio on a spare frequency. Simple.

Does your dashcam come with a USB type power plug that plugs into your cig lighter and then the lead into the USB socket? IF so, it's not a problem as that comes with a twin outlet USB charger/supply.

There are other options to keep things neat and tidy without having wires trailing round the car like an explosion in a spaghetti factory. All depends what you want really.

This is another option :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Dual-2...r/253804068118

Piggy-back it off the back of your fag lighter inside the upper console, run the USB lead in for the handsfree and/or the dashcam, phone charger or whatever. That's actually for 2 USB supplies, other listings for just one are available.

Another alternative is run some twin flex up the inside of the A-pillar trim and then above the top of the screen inside the headliner to the sunroof motor panel then fit something like this in the motor cover panel :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5V-4-2A-D...r/322939196059

Non-illuminated versions are available too - like i say, there are loads of options out there, it really does depend on what you want/need.

To be honest you can do all that and it’ll still sound rubbish. My 940 had the top of the range head unit with 6CD changer from the factory. I thought the drive units had blown it sounded so poor so I replaced them with Pioneer ones, was still rubbish. Changed the head unit for a modern Pioneer which wasn’t too garish, no flashing lights and the colour of the display matched the Volvo lamps. I now had all the connections you need and it sound 10x better.

I’ve still got the original head unit in case a future owner is ever mad enough to want to put it back!!
