Default C30 R-Design Newbie! (With a 2.0 petrol...rattle?)

Hi folks!

Just joined following the purchase of a 2011 C30 R-Design manual (2.0 petrol). Previously had stuff like a 2.0 Hyundau coupe... a 2008 HR 350Z then some poor examples of cars inbetween so needed a return to something that felt quality inside and looked the part (glad I got a facelift in grey..classy).

Having been part of the Z forums i knew this would be a must joining here.

Love the thing inside and the engine is smooth considering I had been stuck with an old 1.3 car prior.

Its got 55k miles on it but ive noticed a slight 'tapety rattle' at idle in neutral. Sometimes hard to hear but concerning when coming from around engine area however... I tried pushing in the clutch and the noise seems to leave. I've yet to try it a few times to confirm but does seem to go.

Anyone any ideas if this is clutch..bearing or is this normal for 2.0 petrol. Anything I should be worried about?

Not seen much on 2.0 petrol other than make sure to service it to ensure oil usage ok but online seems to refer to it as reliable. Its not thw most fuel efficient lol.

Any help on the rattle much appreciated!
Thanks.

If it stops when you press the clutch there are high chances that your DMF might start to go bad. Does it have any service history? Can you check if the clutch was done recently?

Yes stops when clutch in. Just very slight tappet noise when cars sitting but its not always audible. I wasn't sure if the DMF made a noise in general on these. I had a 350Z and it made a noise all time that left when clutch was put in bit that was normal for them. Im aware if it judders when using clutch then its on its way or pretty much done. Ill just keep an eye on it. Clutch seems to be working and not slipping. Car has, besides one stamp, full service history.
