Good luck in finding one! I took years to find mine!
I have to say I have no idea what the value of Amazon Estates are nowadays as I haven't seen a decent one for sale for a long, long time. There are a few resto jobs for sale from time to time, but good ones - even roadworthy ones - just don't seem to come up for sale. I know I'm biased because I think they are the most practical and usable classic car out there, but when you compare the values of the Amazon Estates that have been for sale in the past couple of years to a Citroen DS Safari and some more modern things like Mercedes W123 it doesn't make sense to me; there's no reason a DS Safari is worth double, right?

Thanks. If I don't get the one I looked at at the weekend I will have a look at picking one up in Holland. Left hand drive doesn't bother me, especially as I plan to use it in Sweden a fair bit.
I must admit to always having wanted a DS or SM one day. I have had a couple 2cvs and enjoyed going to the French rallies. But as you say, the Amazon estate has always seemed the most practical of the classics, and one of the most elegant. |

As I said pre auction
"Dealer prices in the UK can be a bit eye watering and if the one that is coming up for auction is bought by a dealer, expect it to be up for sale soon after with a good(bad) jump in price. Better that you buy it if you like it and it's in your price range." Link to the Norfolk dealer please, out of interest. |

They do exist.
I found mine on Car and Classic, it had been on for 6 weeks and no-one had looked at it!? It was MOTed for 10 months and ready to go, with a full history and over £1000 worth of spares including roof rack and overdrive gearbox. It will need inner wings pretty soon but just needed a service and a couple of tyres. I've done 2000 miles so far with just a brake light switch letting me down.
Good cars are out there, I wasn't seriously looking when I found this, it just popped up from nowhere. They usually come along when you least expect it. Keep looking - good luck Peter
